Katerina Moschou (b. 1991, Athens) is a self-publisher and multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, photography, painting and material appropriation. Her practice lies in the observation of both human-made and natural environments, capturing the intricate web of relationships that unfolds within them.
Her artistic practice is rooted in the exploration of everyday life, which Katerina approaches as something “evasive”, defined by what is spoken or done rather than written or recorded. These ordinary undertakings reveal how individuals navigate and understand social order and disorder, embodying the fluid dynamics between human and nonhuman actors. She focuses on these overlooked moments, seeking the material traces of interactions and the ways our bodies shape and are shaped by the world we inhabit.
Her research combines close observation, often documented through photography, with sustained reading. This interplay between visual documentation and critical engagement with texts continuously informs and reshapes her practice. She incorporates elements from one medium into another, creating a tactile essence which bridges visual and material dimensions, deepening her exploration of the everyday.
She holds an Integrated Master’s degree from the School of Visual and Applied Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and studied as a visiting student at the École Supérieure d’Art du Nord-Pas de Calais. She also holds a Law Diploma from the Democritus University of Thrace.
